Checking our strongest hive adding a third brood box to get them to pull out the foundation for us

The beehive has enough brood boxes to use, but we need more frames pulled out (meaning they make a foundation to lay their eggs and store honey into), so we are using their productivity to our advantage (we need pulled foundation!). When we lost our hives last year in the cold spring, the bee moths got into our wax and destroyed much of it, :( So we are trying to catch up on frames. Robber bees were bothering our weaker hives (from splits we had just made about a month ago). That honey was delicious :) *Disclaimer, this is only my 3rd year keeping bees, I am only sharing what I am learning along the way. Find a beekeeping mentor and ask lots of questions, that’s what I keep doing :-)

@zyxwvutsrqponml1234 You’re right, I really don’t prefer entrance feeders for that reason. We have been behind in making boxes, but? I like to use an empty super box for feeders inside the hive for that reason :) Thanks for watching and commenting.

probably the reason your bees are robbing? is because of the entrance feeders.
